This Braai Block is a statement! It is our thickest block at 75mm. This is the type of block that would live next to your braai for chopping, slicing and serving the best steaks in style!

The MASTER block has our signature deep grooves and fine finiahes with sunken handles.This is a must have item in your chopping and serving board collection. Crafted from a single plank with not joints or glue, Dreem Fire wooden boards are durable and sturdy with beautiful proportions and finishes.

. • THE WOOD: we have taken special care in selecting the type of wood we use. All of our boards are crafted from African hardwood which has been selected for durability. Each plank of wood is hand selected and so each board is unique.

  • NO JOINTS, NO GLUE: All of our boards are crafted from a single solid piece of wood. This means no joints or glue.
  • THE GROOVES: on our Braai Block and Fillet Block we have created a groove with PURPOSE! Our grooves are extra large, ready for the juiciest cuts!
  • BRANDING: We believe the beauty of our product must be unspoiled, so none of our boards have branding on the top.

 

About the wood: Sapele

Scientific Name: Entandrophragma cylindricum

Distribution: Tropical Africa

Janka Hardness: 1,410 lbf (6,280 N)

Color/Appearance: Heartwood is a golden to dark reddish brown. Color tends to darken with age. Besides the common ribbon pattern seen on quartersawn boards, Sapele is also known for a wide variety of  other figured grain patterns, such as: pommele, quilted, mottled, wavy, beeswing, and fiddleback.

Grain/Texture: Grain is interlocked, and sometimes wavy. Fine uniform texture and good natural luster.

Rot Resistance: Heartwood ranges from moderately durable to very durable in regard to decay resistance. Moderate insect/borer resistance.

Availability: Should be moderately priced for regular plainsawn or quartersawn lumber, though figured lumber and veneer can be extremely expensive, particularly pommele or quilted Sapele.
